Gandhi [1982]

It would have been really tough for Richard Attenborough to direct the movie with Indian touch but he not only directed it successfully but got this movie the best movie Academy award in 1982. The movie is a summary of the life of of one of the greatest personality of the world, Mahatma Gandhi, who spoke of fighting with non-violence against British raj for the Independence. the movie successfully reels the making of a lawyer into the mahatma and his beliefs that positions him next to Jesus and Buddha.

The movie has an exceptional picturesqueness of Indian villages and their pre-independence conditions.
Ben Kingsley as mahatma Gandhi has done a superb job and his dialogue delivery really makes him best candidate for the role of mahatma and he proved it by winning the best actor academy award for it.
