Invictus [2009]

This one deeply inspired me in some or the other way... Hats-Off to Clint Eastwood. I wasn't expecting anything initially when I started watching this one, but gradually it exceeded all my expectations! It's Eastwood's direction that makes people relate easily with this South African story.
Morgan Freeman is awesome as usual, and so is Matt. The storytelling is good. Initially, it seems life if it's about Mandela's life after prison in SA, and how he uplifted the Nation, but as the movie continues... the emphasis is more on "HOW" he does this. HOW beautifully a sport can be used to inspire people and combile them into one strong entity. This is a must watch movie.
At last ... It's a sports movie... a delight to watch!

INVICTUS

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced not cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the horror of the shade.

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate,

I am the captain of my soul.
